The Mission Statement
Our goal is simple: To provide homeowners, renters, and property managers in the Triangle area with transparent, objective, and conflict-free cleaning data.
Most cleaning company websites hide their actual rates behind contact forms, requiring you to hand over your email address and phone number just to get a basic quote. Worse, online review platforms are frequently manipulated by paid placements or fake testimonials.
Brief & Clear operates differently. We do not sell cleaning services, we do not take kickbacks to alter company rankings, and we never hide our data behind lead-capture forms. We deliver brief, clear, and actionable resources to help you make informed decisions.
Our Data Gathering Methodology
To ensure our cost matrices, checklists, and provider directories reflect the actual realities of the Raleigh-Durham market, we build our resources using a strict three-tier research framework:

-
Direct Market Audits: We continuously audit the published rates, service areas, and incidental fee schedules of over 15 local and regional cleaning outfits across Wake County—from independent operators to major franchises like Dust and Mop, Enovana, and Bright Leaf Cleaning.
-
Crowdsourced Verification: We actively analyze real consumer sentiment and unfiltered pricing feedback from local digital communities, including the
r/raleighandr/triangleforums, to capture hidden fees or service issues that standard marketing text ignores. -
Hyper-Local Constraints: Our guides factor in the specific geographic and structural constraints of Triangle neighborhoods. We map how pricing and operational requirements shift between an estate in Hayes Barton or North Hills, a townhome in Brier Creek, and a high-rise apartment downtown. We have audited 15 cleaning services providers within the Triangle area, and we will continue to list them in our Local Providers Library as and when each of their listings are ready.
We will review this data every three months or as soon as need arises and edit, update, delete, and make any other adjustments accordingly to keep our Raleigh Cost Engine up-to-date, accurate, and reliable.
Future Phase: Compassionate Care & Specialized Resources
While our immediate launch data focuses on standard residential, commercial, and property transition guidelines across Wake County, the next phase of the Brief & Clear project involves mapping out specialized local care resources.
We are currently compiling data to launch a specialized, vetted directory dedicated to non-judgmental, shame-free cleaning services. This upcoming section will serve individuals navigating severe executive dysfunction, ADHD, depression-recovery resets, and complex hoarding remediation. Our goal is to connect families and individuals in crisis with local independent operators who treat deep cleaning as a form of empathetic healthcare rather than a standard commercial chore.
Editorial Independence & Trust
-
No Pay-to-Play Rankings: No cleaning provider can pay to be listed on our site or to improve their position in our directories. Listings are curated based entirely on verified service parameters, licensing, and public consumer records.
-
Fact-Checked & Verified: Every instructional how-to guide and move-out checklist is cross-referenced with standard property management vacancy criteria across North Carolina to ensure accuracy.
-
Open Data Policy: If you are a local independent cleaner or a homeowner with updated pricing data from a recent service in Wake County, we invite you to submit your anonymous data points through our contact page to keep our matrices accurate.
